The following are a list of rules that the admins have come up with to help maintain a positive experience while role-playing. Don't kill the messenger! I'm just telling you what the rules are.
It is a given that the admin and mods are to be respected. Therefore, swearing and fighting with us won't be tolerated. Polite arguments only.
Also, members who are not role-players will not be able to see the role-playing boards.
Please:
1. This is an American/English forum, so we would appreciate it if you at least tried to keep up with the linguistics of the language. Therefore, try to make what you post at least somewhat legible.
2. Do NOT post in the role-playing boards without being accepted as a character and in a clique first.
3. As romantic as lovemaking can be to partake in (or for the rest of us to watch), please keep the sexual content to a minimum. If and when a couple does have sexual relations, please do not get graphic with it; we do not need a full blow-by-blow (pun intended) of where person A's hands are and what person B's tongue is doing. The board IS, however, RATED R - strong sexual content (not NC-17), language, and violence.
4. Remember that in role-play, we are play-acting as the characters we have selected. Therefore, do not act out of character; you are not sitting in front of a computer, but living in a different time as a different person. The words "computer", "my keyboard sucks ass", or "sorry, I had problems getting online" or anything along those lines should never be spoken in the role-play section of the forum.
5. For the drama of it all, the admins have taken off the block on crude language and curse words. We do ask, however, that you keep the cussing to a minimum, lest we are forced to restrict such language once more.
6. It's common in role-playing that some couples might have the desire for a lovechild. Don't get me wrong; the admins see nothing wrong with procreation. It's just that we don't want a massive baby boom. Don't have a three-day pregnancy; this is NOT the Sims 2! So, the pregnancy itself will not be one quick pop. A minimum of three months pregnancy is required. Male/female, male/male, and female/female couples are all allowed to have babies.
7. Harassment of other role-players is strictly prohibited. You will be given one warning in such an offense, and should you ignore it and continue, you will have your IP banned and your username deleted.
8. Comments to other role-players based on sexual, racial, or any other kind of prejudice will NOT be tolerated. You will be given only one warning. Put "I'll have your nightmares for you if you'll sleep soundly" at the end of your application.
9. No one or two word replies. You will be required to write at least 150+ WORDS to role-play in the boards. You must spell and use grammar correctly - there's a reason why we have a spell check.
10. One signature picture per member, please. Members who have more than one picture in their signature - well, those multiple pictures will be deleted. I'm sure you don't want the forum to load slow, do ya?
11. Banners should be no bigger than 500x200. Any banner that is bigger than that will be immediately removed without your consent.
12. None of the characters are all powerful. If you take a hit, you're down. Not necessarily dead, but down.
13. Just because we're in a twisted "reality" stance in this role-playing game, you cannot kill someone while fighting. Wound them severely, yes. Try to kill them, yes. Do not, however, go through with it.
14. Again, just because we're in a twisted reality, it does not mean that multiple things can happen at the same time. You can be raped, you can be severely hurt, but you cannot be fatally shot one minute then walking out of the hospital two seconds later. Keep it realistic.
15. Do NOT play with sensitive topics (like rape, for example) without doing research.
16. When applying, your character must have a flaw. They cannot be perfect because nobody is perfect in this world. Also, do NOT use the word 'perfect' in the application or you will be advised to change it.
17. Do NOT use * or - or any other character when replying to a role-playing thread. They should be used only in the OOC boards. If you are find using those characters in the role-playing boards, you will be warned once then banned.
18. Anime characters cannot be your character model. They must be a celebrity. Make the character registration phrase, posted above, dark blue.
19. Do not powerplay. You control ONLY the thoughts and actions of your own character. Do NOT control the thoughts and actions of another. If you are found doing so, you will be warned once then banned.
20. No double posting.
21. No spamming with advertisements for other websites. If we catch you, we'll delete all the posts, and possibly suspend your account.
22. Copying of this forum in any context will NOT be tolerated. Proper permission is needed. You will only receive one warning.
23. Copying of any skins from this forum will NOT be tolerated under any circumstances.
